About.

I am Harnoor Jaura, a freelance graphic designer and also a part-time photographer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. I have 4 years of professional experience in the field of graphics design, and 2 years of experience in photography.

The story of my art.

Starting out as a creator with silly edited photos, I honed technical skills in Photoshop. As I progressed, I undertook more significant projects like editing photos for family and crafting birthday cards and stickers. However, it wasn't until my sister and I launched a side-hustle business that I found my artistic direction. This venture provided focus and purpose to my work, allowing me to refine my skills and pursue my passion as an artist.

Within our side-hustle, my sister handled client acquisition, managed our Instagram presence, and contributed to physical product creation. Meanwhile, I focused on digital products such as logos, stickers, and posters, refining my skills in Photoshop and Illustrator. After about a year, we decided to put the side-hustle on hold and pursue individual endeavors. During this period, I sold my first logo and created advertising materials for my employer's company.

A year later, I shifted my focus from logos and brand advertisements to photography. Taking a break from graphic design, I delved into understanding the technical aspects of photography, a necessary step for me. Previously, my projects were client-driven without a distinct artistic style, but photography provided a creative outlet. Through it, I discovered the power of conveying messages and stories through singular images, igniting a newfound passion and direction in my personal projects.

Inspired, I dedicated the following summer to photography, capturing diverse subjects from automotive scenes to personal portraits to serve as foundational material for my artwork. Simultaneously, I seized the chance to design a logo and store banners for a new company, while also producing social media content and advertisements for them. Amid these projects, I maintained momentum on my personal creative endeavors.

5.

I seamlessly integrated both my hobbies, designing logos, posters, cards, and advertisements for corporate needs, blending my passion for graphic design and photography. This fusion allowed me to express myself artistically while fulfilling practical demands. Now, I've discovered my artistic voice—I don’t create things just to create, I create because if a thought is important enough, it deserves the space to be expressed. In short, I create the things I create to tell a story and share a message that I think deserves to be expressed.
